Meet Jordan, a Desoto High School senior and dedicated soccer player whose session was as awesome as his personality.

His senior portraits took place over two days. Starting in downtown Kansas City for an urban, modern vibe and finishing on the soccer field in Desoto after rain showers forced us to pause. Sometimes those unexpected changes create the best stories, and in Jordan’s case, it made for an unforgettable two-part session full of energy and personality.

He was even a good sport when I asked him to recreate a portrait that I took of him when he was young. I promised I would only share that with his family, though. :)

Day One: Downtown Kansas City Senior Portraits

We started Jordan’s session in downtown Kansas City, surrounded by urban vibes, warm light, and the kind of energy only the city can bring. We opted for alleyways, texture, and the Kansas City skyline. Every background gave a different side of his personality.

I also had his grandma, who he calls Moona, jump on one of the images. She's the coolest.

Midway through the session, the rain moved in (because Kansas City weather always keeps us guessing!). Instead of letting it end on a wet note, we planned a second session to highlight his passion for soccer, an essential part of his story.

Day Two: Soccer Field Session at Desoto High School

A few days later, we met again on the De Soto High School soccer field. It's one of my favorite fields to do soccer portraits! So glad it's his home field.

The sunset sky was perfect, and the energy was even better. We captured him in his element, focused, determined, and ready to take on the world.
